For those unaware, Anna first appeared in the drama series during Season 5. The pediatric nurse had leukemia, but luckily she seemed to recover once Severide saved her life by donating bone marrow. Though Darden died in Chicago Fire's debut episode, the impact of his passing created a ripple effect that's still felt many seasons later.

"I love that Violet went to Severide. She knew he would understand how she feels regarding grief. Kelly really is the best," @justwrite115 wrote. Severide starts off the conversation by telling Violet about Anna (Charlotte Sullivan), his girlfriend from Season 5, who passed away from leukemia. He also mentions the loss of Shay (Lauren German), who was the first big death in "Chicago Fire." If anyone can empathize with Violet, it's Severide, and he helps her start the process of moving on. They connect later in Severide's quarters at the firehouse, and it looks like we might see a lot more of this duo as time goes on.

Chicago Fire's season 9 finale will drop jaws with major cliffhanger
Paediatric nurse Anna Turner (Charlotte Sullivan) was introduced in season five and had long been diagnosed with Leukemia. But before Severide fell head over heels for Kidd, there was another important woman in his life. When series 12 begins, Severide will be back with the rest of his team as well as reuniting with his wife Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) whom he married in the 10th outing. Season 12 is making its debut this week with its premiere episode airing on Wednesday, January 17, on NBC, along with the return of Chicago Med and Chicago PD. Viewers didn't get confirmation of our worst fears until Season 11, Episode 4 ("The Center of the Universe") when it was revealed Hawkins didn't survive the incident.
Was that your last time on the Chicago Fire set? Originally, that was supposed to be last scene we shot, but luckily, there was an incredible crazy snowstorm that screwed up my entire shooting schedule, so I got to shoot a happy scene last. It was me eating the burger that Severide brought me. It had been so emotional and heavy, so it was nice to end the role with a burger and fries. Watching his girlfriend die soon after he said “I love you” to her with tears in his eyes will be hard for Severide to get through, won’t it? He hasn’t gone to that kind of place with a significant other before.
Dr. Hallie Thomas (Teri Reeves) had been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Casey for eight years when the show started, and the couple's engagement was chronicled in Season 1 of Chicago Fire. Before either of them could get to their wedding day, Hallie discovered the clinic she worked within was involved in a corrupt drug ring. Darden was a best friend to firefighters Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer), both of whom shouldered some blame for the firefighter's death. It’s a devastatingly powerful scene, and a rare one given how infrequently Severide and Violet have one-on-one scenes. It’s both a beacon of hope for the future and a tip of the cap to an old character who met a tragic end.
Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide in the “Carry Me” episode of Chicago Fire. “[Taylor’s] so down-to-earth and lovely and normal, and he plays the role so well,” says Charlotte Sullivan, who portrayed Severide’s girlfriend Anna. But it's all for naught, as Anna takes a sudden turn for the worse.

The episode, titled "No Survivors," could be a very obvious clue that Severide (Taylor Kinney), Joe (Joe Cruz), and Capp (Randy Flagler) drown after an underwater rescue mission goes terribly wrong. Could the trio be taking their place in TV heaven alongside fallen brother Otis (Yuri Sardarov)? Everyone will have to wait until next season to find out.
Their unlikely meet-cute sparks a 10-episode romance between Turner and Severide that ends with her succumbing to her illness. Sullivan's resume, however, extends far beyond the Windy City limits. If you have a soft spot for Canadian television or had the pleasure of growing up in the '90s, here's why you might recognize Sullivan. Anna is a leukemia patient who meets Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) after he donates bone marrow to her. Kelly is screened as a favor to his doctor friend Jeff Clarke (Jeff Hephner) but ends up having to put off the transplant after a work injury. After the surgery, Anna’s health improves somewhat.
This is the first time we've had a scene with Severide and Violet alone, and it was a pairing the fans didn't know they needed. As expected, Episode 4 of "Chicago Fire" Season 11 was full of emotion. The members of Firehouse 51 (and the viewers who watch them) are still reeling from the death of Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas). Violet (Hanako Greensmith) took his tragic passing the worst, understandably, and fans followed her grief journey throughout the episode. Greensmith absolutely nailed her performance in Episode 3 and kept the same energy going into Episode 4.
I kind of harness that because Marilyn didn’t have any either. I knew going into it I would be eviscerated because there are so many people obsessed with her [Marilyn], in love with her, and I can’t live up to that. That year proved to be a busy one for Sullivan.
I think my character would definitely kill for her sister. What I love so much about that kind of film is I know men are a part of that narrative. I know that she desperately wanted to be thought of as a good actress, and that’s something I have always wanted – to be great at what I do. First of all, the opportunity to play that kind of character is a once-in-a-lifetime type of thing. Especially being surrounded by such a cast, it was a spectacular opportunity. Especially when you are working with really talented people.
